Jujutsu Kaisen and Cursed Energy
Jujutsu Kaisen (director Sunghoo Park for Season 1, Shota Goshozono for Season 2) established MAPPA's shonen signature: cursed energy effects rendered as black flame-like distortions that warp the local environment during combat. Characters move with weight and momentum maintained through full animation rather than speed-line shortcuts.
