YouTube Compliance Mode - private-first uploads, audit-ready

YouTube's API gives you a small daily quota by default. Above that, you need an audit. Compliance Mode positions you to pass it.

4 min read · Operations

Above the default YouTube API quota, Google requires an audit before they raise your limit. Most operators hit the quota wall and stall - not because their content is bad, but because their API hygiene is.

Compliance Mode is VideoCue's pre-audit hygiene layer. Every upload is private-first; quota usage is tracked per channel; the system pre-fills the YouTube audit form with the evidence Google asks for.

What Compliance Mode does

  • Private-first uploads. Every video lands private by default. Promote to unlisted or public via an explicit action - no auto-publish to public.
  • Quota tracker. Per-channel daily quota usage with projection. Hits 80% → throttle.
  • Audit-ready evidence log. Every API call logged with timestamp, purpose, and outcome. Exportable for the YouTube audit form.
  • Brand Account hygiene checklist. New channel connections walk through the Brand-Account flow so ownership stays portable.

Why this matters for portfolios

Running 3 channels under default quota is fine. Running 30 channels through one operator account is not - you'll hit the wall on day one. Compliance Mode is the path to the higher quota tier.
